I am an educator through and through. I enjoy learning new things and turning any moment into a teachable moment, we never really stop learning. This is blog is my space to discuss books I have recently read as well as a short review and my overall thoughts and recommendation for the book. I will also help to share any new programs/technologies, ideas, or problems/solutions I have come across in hopes of helping others. Hello Readers!! Today I have a special treat for you, Infographics! I know, I know, it doesn’t sound exciting, but this is a game-changer. A great way to showcase your information in a professional manner, but still look cute! As someone who works with data all day long, this will be my new go-to, when trying to display data for my teachers. It is eye-catching to quickly engage the learner, as well as informative, every teacher’s dream. I tried three different websites before picking the one that worked best to suit my needs. Infogram   -This website had a very professional design. I liked the wide range of infographic templates to choose from using the free version. If you upgrade to the paid version there are many more choices available. I did not find the image search to be that great with just the free version, so you are better off uploading your own images to have a larger selection. Texas Reading Lists!

Hello Readers!  I am so excited to dive into our Texas Reading Lists! I will be posting and giving MY opinions on each book that I read. I do not want to sway you into not reading any particular book,  but I will give you my honest opinion of the books. I would LOVE for you to read the books for yourself and provide your feedback as well.  I will do my best to read as many of the books as I can and I know my own children are excited to read them too! Please ask your librarian if you need help locating a book on the list or feel free to request the book through an interlibrary loan through your school library or the public library. The books can be VERY popular with teachers, staff, and students so please be patient, it will be worth the wait! The Canyon's Edge

 Hello Readers,  Have no fear I have been lost in some great books lately, as well as the beginning of the year teacher business. But, let me tell you about The Canyon's Edge! *Trigger Warning, this book does mention death.* This book, written in verse, is about a young teenage girl's will, determination, overcoming fears, and finding strength within yourself. I was able to read this book right after my eleven-year-old daughter read the book and spoke highly of it herself. I told her it was on my reading list, so I moved it to the top so we could discuss the book together. This was a page-turner. I was constantly finding myself wanting to know what was going to happen next, or if my previous predictions were true. This brought about some great discussions about life, looks, friendships, and sacrifice.  I would suggest this book to anyone who needs some uplifting, needs to be grounded, needs a wake-up call, or needs a good, no, a really good book to read.
